Well, its the eve of the start of a new week...a week in which we will pack up our home, head west, celebrate Thanksgiving in Dallas with family and end up in Taos, NM. My honey will start his job on December 1st and I will start soon after. We will be moving into a 1/1 condo, but will hopefully move to a 2/2 at the first of the year once it is available. We are excited and are looking forward to trying a new method of traveling with our belongings...Stella (my vehicle) is being fitted with a trailer hitch tomorrow and we will tow a tiny U-Haul trailer to our new home. This will allow my honey and me to have room to actually recline our seats during the 20+ hour journey and not have to sit with our knees under the dashboard! The kitties will also have a lot more room to spread out as all of our belongings will be in the trailer! Yay...more comfortable travel! We realized that since we would be adding our winter clothing to our belongings this time, Stella would be beyond maxed out! So, we will let everyone know how traveling with a trailer goes!
So, the wedding for my brother-in-law, Jeffrey, and sister-in-law, Lindley, took place this weekend. This is ultimately why we wanted to be home at this time...so that we could help celebrate with our wonderful family! The wedding turned out fabulously and was so much fun. It was quite a busy weekend with the bridesmaids luncheon on Friday, followed by manicures and pedicures for the girls and the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner (which was super yummy)! The rehearsal dinner was at the same club as our rehearsal dinner so it brought back good memories! Then Saturday morning we had wedding day brunch at the Vestavia Country Club followed by makeup and getting ready at the church and then pictures and finally the ceremony! It was beautiful and just like a movie! After the ceremony, the bridal party and bride and groom loaded up on a trolley and drove to the Birmingham Country Club where we had a private room to eat and drink in and just relax. Then we helped usher the new Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Salmon into the reception and it was some serious partying from that time until 11pm! Whew...quite a weekend. One thing that my honey and I are grateful for is that we were able to see family members that either I have never met or my honey has not seen in years! I met two of my honey's cousins that he grew up with, which was so wonderful...they were a lot of fun. We also got to spend time with Aunt JoAnne and Aunt Judy and Uncle Butch and Grandma Salmon!! Such precious time with family that we didn't know we were going to have. So, now I am not the only daughter in the Salmon family, but I'm still the first! I am so excited to have a sister finally!
Also, it has been wonderful to see my mom and will be seeing my dad tomorrow. We have enjoyed our time here in Birmingham and are so thankful for the housing that was so graciously provided for us.
Okay, so the bow ties had to be hand-tied and only like one groomsmen knew how to tie a proper bow tie, so this caused a bit of a fiasco! Doesn't my honey look so handsome?!!
This is the father-of-the-bride who couldn't pull himself away from the UAB basketball game and had to keep his headphones on for the majority of the pre-ceremony activities. Sitting next to him is the newest niece for the bride!
Grandma Salmon being brought into the church in her "golden chariot"!!
My mother-in-law, Mil, and me...she looked fabulous and super chic!
My honey and me with Grandma Salmon.
My honey and me before the ceremony! So exciting and fun.
This is a picture of Jason's two cousins, Michele and Amy, who Jason had not seen in many years. They were so much fun and I'm so glad that I was able to spend time with them!
The glowing bride on the trolley on our way to the reception!
Beautiful bride and my new sister!!
My honey and me. Just a little smooch for posterity's sake!! :)
The very happy bride and groom heading out after the reception!!
Here is a fun video of our family getting their boogie on at the reception!!
