Rio Grande Gorge Bridge

Hello, again!  I am constantly amazed that we are living in such a beautiful place with such beautiful things to see right near us.  This entry is about the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge which is only like 30 minutes from our house!  One day this week, we got out of work early, so my honey took me to the Gorge as the sun was setting...it is breathtaking.
The bridge is 650 feet above the river and is the 5th highest bridge in the US.  It has been in several movies, including Terminator Salvation.  Sadly, it is also the site of many suicides.  The Rio Grande River runs for about 1800 miles!

This is a picture looking back at the mountains as the sun was setting...so majestic.
This is me standing on a overlook looking into the gorge.  It was hard to tell the depth of the gorge because it is so huge.

This is the bridge that is amazing in itself.  It spans the gorge and crosses the Rio Grande River down below.

Here is a picture of the river going through the gorge.  Amazing how the earth just has a huge crack in it that goes on for a long way.  I  feel so privileged to be able to see some of the most amazing places in America and marvel at God's handiwork!

Love you all,
Amanda
