Something different...A blessing in disguise on the slopes!

Well, Monday, I was in yellowbird ski class and injured my shins toward the end of class.  The right shin was swollen with fluid you could feel under the skin.  I iced it, took Tuesday off and tried to make it better.  Yesterday (Wednesday), I was back at the mountain ready for day 2 of yellowbird class.  When I put the ski boots on, I quickly realized that my shin was not any better and there was no way that I could wear the ski boots.  The pain was pretty intense and I was so frustrated that I was going to have to go home again.  Then someone suggested I try the snow board boots on...BINGO...they were actually tolerable.  So, then I joined a yellowbird snowboarding class for the day!!  I was so surprised to find out how much I enjoyed it and my teacher kept saying that I was a "natural".  I was the only one in the class, so I rec'd one-on-one attention and learned a lot!  I did injure my tailbone and left shoulder, but no pain, no gain!!  I was supposed to go back to the slopes today for another snowboard lesson, but couldn't make it because of my injuries that needed a day to heal, so I hope to finish up snowboard school tomorrow!!  I really had a lot of fun and enjoyed showing my honey my moves:)

This is a beautiful pictures of Taos mountain.

Here I am, getting ready to show my stuff to my honey!

A little video to demonstrate some of what I learned!

Thank goodness that I was able to find out how much I enjoyed snowboarding through what seemed like a frustrating experience.

Love,
Amanda
