Okay, Mandi and I are about to freeze here. Apparently Texas got a cold snap and used up all the natural gas (which supplies them, NM, and AZ) so all natural gas was turned off in New Mexico yesterday morning when it was well below zero. Last night we were able to get the living room up to 61 degrees with the fireplace blaring...yippee. Then this morning, as I headed to take a shower with only a few drops of hot water left, I saw that it was 54 degrees in the living room...excellent. Now we hear that the state is sending out people to restart the gas house by house, hopefully getting to our place tomorrow some time. Apparently we can't be trusted to light our own pilot! Oh well, another night of curling up under several blankets in the fetal position...and no showers until the gas is back on. Think warm thoughts everyone, and Auntie: stop hogging the gas in Texas!

ReplyDeleteI meant to write this earlier but I just out of the HOT shower, with our gas water heater set at HIGH. Hope you get warmer, hold on, got to turn the gas furnace down.
