Valentine's Day 2011

This Valentine's Day was definitely one of the best thus far in our long marriage!!  I will always remember Valentine's Day in Taos.
To start, we exchanged gifts on Valentine's Eve because we couldn't wait one more day!  This commonly occurs in the Orcutt household, but rarely in the Salmon household.  Amanda received a day of pampering at a local spa which includes a massage and spa pedicure...yay!!  Jason received some Sorel super-cool, super-soft house shoes...ahhh, so warm.
We both worked Valentine's day, but we worked together which is so nice and we both wore our heart undies.  After work we exchanged cards and then headed to dinner at Graham's Grille, a very hip, tasty restaurant in downtown Taos.  Below is the special Valentine's menu, showing the emphasis they placed on serving romantic food!
We started with a yummy glass of red wine and a smooth Guinness, followed by bread and Moroccan hummus and a bowl of crab and corn chowder!  Jason ordered a ribeye and scalloped potatoes for his main course.  Amanda enjoyed butternut squash ravioli in a cranberry glaze...both were fantastic!  To top it off and put WAY past full, we tried red velvet cake with homemade ice cream and a Mexican banana dessert that was a banana rolled in a tortilla and fried in cinnamon and sugar...yummy!  We then rolled home and put on our elastic-waist pants and crashed.  What a wonderful evening.

Here we are with our gifts and cards...don't we look happy?!

A couple of pics of us at the restaurant.

The restaurant had a lady singing romantic tunes and playing a guitar and each couple rec'd a specially written love/food poem.  Above, is pictured the poem we received.  The owner asked us to read the poem and see if it "spoke to us"...it did not.  After our main dish, the owner/executive chef bussed our table...only in Taos!

Lots of love to our family and friends...Amanda and Jason
