Halloween 2010

Hey everyone, we are settled back in Birmingham and getting back into the groove.  It's amazing how many things we do each day without work!  Chores and errands just expand to fill the time, apparently.  Well, our first act upon return was heading out for a Halloween celebration at "Nightmare on 29th Street" here in Birmingham's Lakeview district.  We went with Mark and Natalie Bahakel and Justin and Kristen Lamb.  The night was a blast and here are some photos that will tell the story:

Me and the girls.  On the left is Kristen and Natalie is in the middle.  We went as Three Little Kittens who lost their mittens and had fun.  As you can see, I went all out in my gray kitten costume while the others were cute black kitties.
The boys went with a Karate Kid theme with Mark as the Karate Kid and my honey and Justin as Cobra Kai guys (the bad guys!).  They watched key parts of the movie before we went out to memorize some catch phrases and the photo on the left is an action shot of my honey "sweeping the leg" as is directed in the movie's final fight scene.  My honey kicked his outfit up a notch by dyeing his goatee black with a red stripe in the center.  Quite fetching and got a lot of attention!

All of us at the street party.  It was pretty cold but still very fun.  We got in some great people watching and costumes were unbelievable.  One crazy black guy was dressed up as an overweight woman and said he was the "black" sister wife in this group that was dressed as a Mormon man with several wives like the new TV show.  He was a character and danced with me and even Justin until he was ushered away or got distracted...

Karate Kid Mark Bahakel has had some liquid courage and is ready to take down any passerby.  Watch out!

This is a sneak in picture from the same party in 2009.  That year Jeff and Lindley were there and my honey was a werewolf.  We had tons of fun that time also and wanted to get this picture in because it is both fun and hilarious!

Well guys, that's our Halloween update, hope you enjoyed it.  We'll check back in with you soon with more about our stay in Birmingham, my upcoming trip to see Libba, Jeff's wedding, and our travel out to Taos, NM at the end of the month.

Love to all,
Amanda
