May 28th - May 31st Jason's parents came to visit us in Taos; bringing a piece of home to us!!! (The kitties call them "Mimi and Papa".) We planned out an hour-by-hour, whirlwind itinerary that would be sure to please! I really enjoyed showing them the sights from Albuquerque to Taos...I think that I gained 5 pounds from all of the amazing meals we had! Here are some of the pictures from their visit.
Here we are at the gorge...nearly being blown off the bridge by the hurricane force winds! They are holding on for dear life!
We took them to Taos ski valley which is closed for the season but there is still a lot of snow! Coming from Alabama they were glad to see a cooler climate and they did remarkably well in the high altitude!
We visited a playground and took this great picture of Jason and his parents looking quite "gnomish"...its the Salmon-gnomes!!
We walked around the Taos plaza one day and we met this poor guy who's house had been knocked down and he was very upset...we wanted to help him but he was already trying to fix it. He was being very vocal with his emotions and it broke my heart to see him trying to rebuild his house.
Mimi bought Mr. Winston and Ms. Penelope new toys and they were very happy! Ms. Penelope warmed right up to Mimi and Papa (sneaking in their room whenever she could) but it took Mr. Winston a little while to work up his courage...but by the end of the visit he was letting Mimi pet and hold him some. After everyone had gone to bed I came into the living room and found Winston playing with his new toy...he was too shy to play with it when everyone was watching him!

We really enjoyed our roles as "tour guides" and had a great time visiting with our parents.
