Chairlifts and pumpkins...Fall fun!

Hello, everyone!!  We are really enjoying the beautiful fall weather here in Wisconsin.  The fall colors are breath-taking and it feels so crisp outside.  In our town there is a ski area and during the fall they run the chairlift on three weekends to allow people to see all the beautiful colors surrounding the city!  My honey and I were super excited to have our ride and we were not disappointed...it was so peaceful and serene seeing the colors and being up so high.  Here are some pictures to share:

We took this picture from the chairlift!

Here we are at the top trying to take one of our famous self-portraits!  And even more gorgeous scenery!

Yesterday, my honey and I went to a local "punkin" patch to get us a pumpkin to carve!  I don't think that either of us had ever picked our own pumpkin so we were pretty excited!!  The farm where we went was so beautiful with red barns and silos.  I would love to have a beautiful barn one day!

So, we took off through the pumpkin patch in search of the 2011 Salmon "Punkin"!  We searched for a while and finally found some that we thought were winners!

We thought this one was the luck one but them we found two others that looked great too so we had to put them side by side and pick the best one.

"The Three"...and the winner is...

This guy!!!  (BTW, I just love this picture of my honey...such a handsome pumpkin-picker!)

Before we left we thought we would have a corn stalk fight but we couldn't find a full stalk for Jason and he ended up with a considerable disadvantage!

We were so excited to see the cute animals they had for us to pet.

My honey with the softest little miniature donkey!  So cute!

Of course my honey couldn't resist getting his picture taken with the cut-out...he looks like a real farmer!

We are looking forward to enjoying the fall activities going on here in Wausau and will keep you all updated on the fun we have.  We hope that everyone is enjoying beautiful weather and fun harvest-time activities.  For the past two years we have made it a tradition to go out on Halloween with our friends Natalie and Mark Bahakel and Kristen and Justin Lamb to downtown Birmingham for a street festival.  We have had so much fun and I am really going to miss it this year.   Hopefully we can pick the tradition back up next year!

Love,
Amanda
