The Gypsy life is the life for me!!!

Here is a short chronicle of our travel from beautiful Oregon to Wisconsin.  This trip took us 3 days and totaled 34 hours...Our longest road trip yet!  No matter how much we loved our time in Oregon, it was time for us to pack up the kitties and hit the road.  We towed "Big T", the trailer, which allowed for the kitties to once again have the whole back end of Stella.  They had there litter box, food and water bowls, scratching post, blanket and crate...what more could you want?

Beautiful scenery in Oregon as we headed east...we got to see a lot more of Oregon than desired because we took the wrong turn on the interstate and went in the opposite direction for over an hour...oops!!  What's a couple of extra hours when you're talking three days...ha ha!

Picture of my handsome honey with "Big T" our little trailer!

Once we got back on track we headed up through eastern Washington and got on I-90 which combined with I-94 to take us through Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota and finally Wisconsin!  Whew!!

Here's our sweet Penelope under her sheet enjoying the ride!  With all the space the kitties had, Penelope loved crawling under this sheet and Winston slept in a tiny space on the floorboard.

Yee-haw!...we're in Marlboro Man country!  More Montana countryside...beautiful mountains and hills and lots of wide open spaces.  We can see why people love it!  It was great to finally visit Montana because my family always dreamed of taking a vacation there but never made it!

In the past we have used elaborate schemes to smuggle our kitties into yucky hotel rooms, but this time we found a handy website that told us of pet friendly hotels.  It steered us to this great Best Western in Missoula, Montana where we spent a peaceful first night!

Here is Ms. P enjoying the business amenities such as the lamp!

As much as we loved the hotel, it was time to get back out on the road.  As you can see the kitties were super unhappy in the car as they got to be driven around by us.

Self-explanatory sign.  Yay, we might just make it!

Here is Mr. Winston resting in the floorboard behind the driver's seat. We didn't hear a peep from him for about 10 hours! Talk about an easy rider!

Ms. P enjoyed hanging out in the crate!  When the door is locked, nobody wants anything to do with it, but when the kitties can go in and out freely it becomes a very popular spot!

Finally, the "welcome to Wisconsin" sign...thought we would never see it!  We then passed by beautiful dairy farms, pastures and lots of "ruralness" to arrive at our new home in Wausau!

So, one more road trip down and we are happy to be off the road for a little while.  We will post pictures of our new home and town soon.  Thanks to all of our family and friends who prayed for our safety while we drove.  There were a couple of times when we knew that if it had not been for God's protection we would have not made it to Wisconsin.  On one very scary occasion a trailer ahead of us lost a wheel at 75mph and thankfully was able to steer off the road as we flew by...yikes!  I am very grateful for all the blessings God has given me and my honey and we know that God has great things in store for us here in Wisconsin.

Love to all,
Amanda
